Gen Art's fresh faces have awesome fashion.
By: Mitra Asgarinik
This New York indie duo rocks out some cute outfits. Named after one of the designer's pet Maltese, Mooka Kinney was deemed one of Gen art's Fresh Faces for Spring 2008 collections.
The label is abundant with dresses and jumpers, which, in my opinion,
are timeless and can be worn any season and can be accessorized to any
style.Mooka Kinney satisfies every
taste with their vintage-esque designs and cute style. The designers, Rachel
Antonoff (24) and Alison Lewis (23), are inspired by winged ponies, Peter Pan,
and other fantastical things, states their website. Their interests show in
their garments, which make you feel like you hit the jackpot in your mother?s old
clothing trunk and everything fits. Mooka Kinney seems to favor the jumper,
which is such a wonder. You can bundle up with a long-sleeved sweater or
thermal underneath, pull up some cozy stockings, and strap on some boots to
create an adorable winter outfit. When it warms up, shorten the undershirt?s
sleeves and slip on some flats and you?re ready for one gorgeous afternoon. If
you need to dress it up, pull the jumper over a flowy, solid blouse, add
stockings, and slip into striking heels.
The label already adorns
indie music bands such as Au Revoir Simone and Tilly and the Wall. They have
also dressed celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson, Zooey Deschanel, and
Michelle Williams. Visit Mooka Kinney?s website at MookaKinney.Com and find out
where you can get these cute pieces!
