Wednesday, 28 November 2007

The bold London designer is deemed top fashion designer of the year at the annual awards ceremony.

By: Mitra Asgarinik

Known for her feminine cuts and animal friendly garments, Stella McCartney definitely deserves her title.

McCartney began her designing career by started her own fashion house under her name with Gucci Group and showed her first collection in Paris in October of that year. Today, she has created women's collections, accessories, eyewear, perfume, a 100% organic skinline (CARE), and a beauty collection. She has also partnered with ADIDAS, compiling a sports collection for running, gym, yoga, tennis, swimming, and dance. She handles three flagship stores in Manhattan, London, and Los Angeles. Her collections are distributed in over forty countries in boutiques and department stores.

Her current Fall 2007 collection is super chic, featuring heavy coats and a flaunt of the leg. Her designs capture the femininity of a?woman, and compliment the shape of?a woman's?body. Her fur coats are made of faux fur, seeing she has been a long time vegetarian. Her Spring 2008 collection features light pastel colors with flowy fabrics and sexy cuts. Her clothes are a must for any fashionable woman's wardrobe.
