New York Times Announces the Best and Worst Fashions on the Red Carpet of this Year
Monday, 17 December 2007

For any celebrity event there is always the good, the bad, and the ugly; celebrities seem to serve as the best examples for all.

From hair to their clothes, celebrities were commended and scrutinized for their fashions displayed this year at the red carpet.

We'll start off on a light note:

30_a.jpgJessica Biel, winner of the Best Butt audience award, shows up at the Globes with this tailored, stunning sheath. This snug look is a definite "in" for next season, and should be taken in favor of rather than the loose-fitted, bubblesque dresses of this year.

Carrie Underwood sports a definite glam with this sweetheart cut dress at the Grammy's. The cut, fit, and length are all perfect choices for such an occasion, and the matching shimmering clutch is an awesome accessory. She also favored the ever-popular long wavey curls over an up-do. Take heed to Carrie's choice of a shimmery material, which was one of the top fashions of Spring collections.

30_c.jpgCute, flirty, and fun, Reese Witherspoon had the perfect preamble for next year when she showed up at the Golden Globes in her yellow Nina Ricci dress. Again, she chose a flattering tailored look in with a bright sunny yellow. This dress is an absolute picker-upper for any girl.

Now for some bad news:

30_d.jpgI don't know what Jennifer Connelly was thinking when she appeared at the "Reservation Road" premier. The floral print reminds me of the obnoxious dresses I used to wear in elementary school, and the padded puffed sleeves don't help the pattern out. (Not to mention the shoes she chose to wear that look held together with caution tape.) This fit is not flattering for any woman either.

30_e.jpgI love Heidi Klum, but I cannot even try to love this dress she's flaunting. Even when hosting Bravo TV's "Project Runway", I'm idoling her fashion choices. The rear-clevage has never been in, unless you're walking the carpet for the Plumber Awards. The sequins and colors are a great choice; but, the cut in the back sould definitely be reconsidered.
