Celebrities and runways have been flashing berets, and the weather is begging you to get one too!

Traditionally worn (and usually associated with) by the French, the beret is becoming a fashion statement overseas.
You don't need to feel like a militant, film director, or Jamie Hyneman (MythBustersI) when wearing a beret, because they're becoming fashion do's more and more. Nicole Richie, Mary-Kate, and Kirsten Dunst have been sporting the beret for some time now. The great thing about a beret is that you can find one anywhere, in any color, and at great prices. (Try Target or a fashion store at the mall, like Forever 21 or Urban Outfitters) Personally, I prefer the knit beret to the wool beret, but either add a definite pulse of chic and fun to an outfit. Not to mention, it's a great way to camoflauge an otherwise greasy or unruly head of hair! They're also a great way to keep warm, without looking obnoxious.
Kirsten Dunst shows off her red wool beret with a casual outfit. Berets look adorable with a "carefree" hair look. Either don't bother flat ironing or styling your hair for the day, or try and scrunch it for the mildly messy art-eest look.

Nicole Ricci looks super cute, and super warm with her bright red wool beret. She shows a way to pull your hair up in a messy halfesque bun and pull the bun over to hold it in place. Ricci completed her outfit with a long black trench coat and tall black boots.
