Tailored fits, sexy cuts, and flashy materials definitely made Rhonda Spears' mark in the fashion world.
Rhonda Spears is a jack of all trades of the fashion industry. She is a graduate from Bauder College in Atlanta, with a degree in fashion design. Not only is she a fashion designer, she is also a top hair stylist for Salon Cielo and Spa. With a knack for all aesthetics, her designs in both hair and clothing have blown me away. Her fashion show, which debuted this month, was focused on the idea of evolution, and how it is a beautiful thing. The journey of transition was the focus of her pieces, following Spears' philosophy to work hard, love hard, and live life. I asked Spears what her inspiration was for this collection, and she replied by saying it just comes to her. Her custom designs are fresh, with a kick of urban style to them, favoring silhouettes and a woman's figure. The collection was fond of empire waists, which Spears commented are thankfully forgiving. Since she is a Florida designer, most of her pieces were Florida weather friendly, showing lots of skin and made of flowy fabrics.
Many of the pieces were composed of sequins, which had intricate detail to them. My favorite piece of the entire collection was an adorable sequined minidress equipped with a quirky hood. The collection had several multi-pieced outfits and also included some beautiful evening wear. The evening wear featured favored luxurious flirty colors like bright orange and shimmering gold; pieces which any celebrity would want to adorn on the red carpet. Other garments displayed had amazing detail work concerning cuts. Spears created pieces with sexy deep cuts in the backs of some of her pieces, while others had flirty plunges about the chest and arms. Also accompanying these sexy cuts were body hugging fabrics and designs which flattered every model. Pictured above is model Olga in one of Spears' flashy evening dresses. Rhonda Spears definitely fell into trend of the designers from Spring 2008 fashion weeks. Her affinity for metallics and tailored cuts will be hot for the new season and fall right into line for what women will be craving for the upcoming season. You can purchase and view Spears' collections on her MySpace. Spears is a fresh fashion designer to keep a look out for, because she's working the runway and working her way up the fashion ladder.

Two pieces that did not hit the runway for Rhonda Spears' Spring 2008 collection, but were previously designed and made by Spears. The hostess of the show (pictured top left) wore the dress pictured. It is a fun halter dress, made of flowing chifon and banded at the neck and waist. The sexy leopard print piece (pictured top right) is displayed on Spears' website, and is a sexy piece, perfect for a night on the town. Photos courtesy of Rhonda Spears.
