Make sure to adhere to these guidelines to bring in the New Year.

Whether you end up on the bathroom floor or not this New Year's, make sure you're at least dressed for the occasion.
For most of us, we want to dress to impress at the New Year's Eve party we'll be attending. For women, it's skimpy dresses to either guarantee a New Year's Kiss or so you can show everyone your last New Year's Resolution of weight loss actually followed through. For men, there usually isn't much thought into what goes into your outfit; pants and a shirt will do, or so you think.
When dressing for your New Year, make sure you take in to account who's going to be there. If you're hitting a work party first and then your best friend's, make sure your outfit is appropriate for both. You don't want to show up overdressed in front of your boss, and then again, you don't want to feel like you're doing business at your bestie's house. If you're not quite sure as to what to wear to satisfy both, stick with a simple strapless cocktail dress and make sure you bring a cardigan or light jacket to cover up if need be.
Accessorize as needed. It's totally okay to pump up the glam with a sparking diamond necklace or shimmering earrings.
No matter what you do, make sure you're noticed, but not sticking out. You want to make a glamorous impression among your other party-goers, and you want to feel confident while comfortable.
You may want to consider stockings (especially considering the weather) with your dress, just in case you and the bathroom floor do get a chance to meet. So, if you're sprawled out or jumping around, no one is catching a glimpse of something they shouldn't be seeing. Speaking of undergarments, you also want to ensure your ladies are securely in place. Consider wearing a bra, just to be safe and to avoid a mishap.
Men? You can't go wrong with a nice pair of fashion jeans and a dress shirt. It's just important for you to look presentable like the ladies. Bring a fashionable blazer or jacket to cover up also.
Either way, make sure you're dressed to bring in the new year the right way: fashionable and comfortable.
