A Taboo Tattoo Fashion
Wednesday, 26 December 2007

For along time tattoos were viewed as rebellious, forbidden, outlawed and "Taboo".

By: Karay Perkins

Over the past decade tattoos became mainstream and popular amongst society.

Not only has the tattoo craze taken the world by surprise, but it has become a fashion statement. Ed Hardy, a tattoo artist and designer, is taking tattoo-wearing to a whole other level - "Tattoo Fashion." Don Ed Hardy was born in 1945 in Iowa, then moved to Costa Mesa, California. California is where he pursued his tattoo career. He is known for incorporating Japanese tattoo art and skill into his work, which is brilliant and innovative. His work became trendy amongst the pop-culture, especially when he instituted Don Ed Hardy Brand. Hardy was approached by Ku USA, Inc. to produce a line of clothing based on his tattoo art work. Within in two years, the collection had captured the interest of several clothing companies, and then a decision was made by Ku and Hardy to incorporate "Hardy Life, LLC."

Hardy's clothing line gives off a punk rock feel with a twist of extreme urban flavor. The line is sporty and brings a fresh, sexy innovative look to the fashion world. He has a full collection, which includes pieces from hats to shoes. He is most famous for his shoes and tattoo sleeves. Hardy is a talented artist, fashion designer, and in my opinion, has much to contribute to the fashion world.
