The Russian inspired collection showcased 33 looks, and was breathtaking.
The doll-like models displayed a prominence of suede and chiffon materials with sparkling gemstone and sequin embellishments. Verrier added this sparkle and glamour to the hems and trims of her pieces, which reflected a whimsical sentiment. The collection featured bubble hems and intricate layers, which stood out from the models’ modest appearance in makeup and hair. Many pieces were translucent and moved with grace alongside each model, which gestured an elegant and romantic feel. The Verrier collection, inspired by fashionistas like Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy, stood out from many of the other women’s shows at Bryant Park this week.
Incorporating soft, big curls alongside neutral makeup with a slight shimmer, added a classiness to this collection, commented Carol Miranda. Verrier told Miranda, “We wanted to achieve a just out of the cold, frost bitten look”. The hair and makeup added softness to the collection, and made it inviting to women of all kinds. |
