Placed in a dreamy setting, with paper lamps hanging from the ceiling and backdrop, Nanette Lepore debuted her jet setter Fall 2008 collection.

Her inspiration was the high society party girl, who endeavors the sophisticated world of cocktail hour and transitions into dancing past midnight.
The highlights of Lepore’s collection included high-waist twill skirts paired with short jackets. Taffeta tops embellished with hand draping and colors of ivory, black, wine, and mauve, set the collection into a girly feel. Like other Fall collections, Lepore included prints, which featured horizontal stripes and bright florals. Also similar to other runway shows, Lepore’s models wore elbow length black leather gloves, which paralleled the models of Joanna Mastroianni. Also like Mastroianni, Nanette Lepore utilized scalloped embellishments at the tops of her dresses, which resembled seashells. She also featured gorgeous materials of lace, metallic, and transparent chiffons. Unlike other designers at Fashion Week this season, Lepore showcased her new shoe line as well. The majority of her shoes were ankle strap pumps, which came in flirty colors like champagne pink, teal, and merlot and came adorned with black patent Persian bows. |
